We are located down the narrow lane or close between the Longship jewellery shop and The Longship clothes shop, opposite St Magnus Cathedral.  In our square you will find two benches to relax on (weather permitting) and an oak tree planted by John Gorie in 1919.  The story goes that the Gories were sent a brace of pheasants by a friend in the Highlands.  When Mary cut open one bird, she found an acorn in its crop.  John planted it in the garden to the rear of the shop – where it flourishes to this day.

Opening hours

Our opening hours for January and February 2024: Tuesday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm, Sunday.

In the spring we resume Monday opening, and during the summer we extend our hours further, usually including Sundays.

Due to our island location, it’s expensive to send goods off on a mail order basis, so we don’t offer that service as standard.  However, in exceptional cases we may be able to make special arrangements, so do ask if we seem to be the only source of a particular item that you are looking for.
